Google Car
Made by Google. First revealed in 2010. It is a self-driving car. It works through sensors implemented to the car. Google has created a prototype, driverless Toyota Prius. It includes GPS and a 64-beam laser on the room that models out the environment into 3-D which then the sensor use to detect obstacles. It is said to become a reality by 2018.
Bullet Train
Japan has successfully created new generation of trains using maglev technology. It is said to run at most 310 mph or 500 km/h (Fastest as of right now). The Bullet train is said to be ready in 2027 for public uses.
Electric Cars
Cars that runs on electricity. Powered by rechargeable battery packs and propelled by an electric motor. There are many benefits to electric cars.
- Energy efficient.
- Environmentally friendly.
- Performance benefits.
- Reduce energy dependence.
- However there are some downfalls
- Driving range.
- Recharge time.
- Battery Cost.
- Bulk & Weight.
Garmins Windshield
Garmin HUD, uses your smartphone to display navigation information onto the windshield of your car. Garmin HUD supports iPhone, Android phones, and Windows Phone. It uses a transparent film or reflector lens that reflects off the windshield of the car.Transparent heads-up displays were in the beginning used by fighter pilots. Garmin's HUD are currently being placed in high-end cars. Because of Garmin's HUD low cost, it is almost availiable for almost everyone.
Laser Headlights
Uses 6 laser diodes in addition to its banks of LED lights. Can shine up to 1500 feet (quarter mile). At CES 2014, Audi announced their R18 race car that use 6 high power laser diodes with LED light for the cars headlamps. The headlamp's lasers are projected onto a diode which diffuses white light. The laser light can shine up to 1500 feet (quarter mile) which makes it attracted to carmakers. However Stephan Berlitz, Audi's Head of Lighting Innovations, quoted "At the moment, the laser's not strong enough. It's at a point where LED was about 10 years ago." So for the future of Audis is to incorporate LED and Lasers in their cars .
URB-E
Foldable electric scooter.Urb-E is the world's most compact scooter. It has a top speed of 15mph and a range of 20mile on a single charge. The scooter can be folded and is small enough to fit in a train or bus. There are many different models for the URB-E like the Commuter which is a three-wheel design to enhance stability and have a lower speed to maneuverer around pedestrian. The URB-E GP is for speed that is it. BLACK by URB-E has an aluminum frame with carbon fiber inserts just for coolness. The website is urb-e.com
HyperLoop
Train concept from San Francisco to Los Angeles that is composed of low-pressured tubes with capsules that are propelled throughout each destinations using a propulsion system. The capsules accelerate via a magnetic linear accelerator.
SpaceXDragon
A Free-flying spacecraft that sends cargo and people to orbiting areas in space. It was the first to send cargo to International Space Station and safely return cargo to Earth.
Chevrolet EN-V
The Chevrolet EN-V is only a concept idea. It is said to be self-driving, reducing car accidents and increase independence. The Chevrolet EN-V is also powered by electricity by using hydrogen fuel cells to reduce the use of gasoline. The Chevrolet EN-V connects your mobile phone which gives the individual control over the lock-system, ignition, and other applications.
Audi Driver Centric Urban Navigation
Intelligent Assist project to reduce accident. Smart Parking help drive find parking spots. Predictive Traffic analyzes traffic patterns. Merge Assist help driver merge. Lane Change Assist monitors.
Hövding Airbag
The Hövding Airbag is wore around the collar and inflate to protect cyclists from falls. The airbags use sensors and algorithm to detect falls and a gas inflator inflates the airbag to protect the user's head from impact. The Hövding Airbag is made from an ultra-strong nylon fabric which will not rip went user are scraping the ground. The collar is waterproof and holds a charge for 18 hour per charging. Hövding Airbag also contains a black box that record 10 second of data such as cyclists' movement. Cyclists can buy the airbag helmet Here
